We are looking for a talented Senior Designer to be the driving force behind branding, marketing, and promotional design work for CBS Sports. Is this you?
You are bold, visionary, and passionate about making delightful, stunning work and want to contribute to a team that pushes sports design forward and resonates with its audience. You relish the challenge of driving novel concepts and developing a unique creative vision. You can apply a diverse bag of tricks (graphic design, photo manipulation, illustration, collages, animation, gifs, data visualization) to produce compelling graphics that match each project's unique creative requirements. You are experienced in brand design, making key art, and designing for various platforms. You keep your finger on the pulse of the design landscape and are motivated by seeing your work at scale and be appreciated by audiences everywhere!

You will report to Sr. Design Director with your team being distributed across NYC and Nashville. You must be a self-motivator, full of enthusiasm, a desire to learn, and have a fine eye for detail.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Playbook Design Systems. The rollout of our new design system across all products and platforms.
• Launching new and inspiring Connected TV experiences for the sports streaming age.
• Overhaul of our CBS Sports iOS and Android Apps.
• Personalized sports video tools.
• Sports Projection tools for DFS and Picks.
• Design partnerships with Apple, Google, Roku, and Amazon on large-scale projects. Shh!
• Fantasy games at scale!
• The team doesn't stop there! We are part of the larger ViacomCBS family that extends across CBS News, Paramount , MTV, Nickelodeon, plus many more exciting brands. We meet regularly, exchange ideas, discuss industry-wide challenges, and participate in company-wide hack-days/design-days. This extended family allows for endless growth opportunities both within the company and the wider design community. We want all ViacomCBS designers to be industry leaders and support speaking opportunities, workshops, and company-organized meetups.
• Work with the marketing team to design creative assets around Sports Streaming, Fantasy sports, and Games Promotion.
• Design branding elements for new Podcasts, Shows, Fantasy Games (Logos, Styleguides etc)
• Present your work to various stakeholders, explaining your creative process and how your final design aligns with the project goals.
• Help various brands across the Sports portfolio (CBS Sports, Max Preps, 247 Sports etc) with graphic design opportunities and initiatives.
Key Projects:
• Thumbnail and assets creation for regular streaming events.
• Email marketing for Fantasy Games Promotional Banners.
• Redesigning the suite of Podcasts for CBS Sports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
What you bring to the team:
You have -
• 5 years of visual design experience working with consumer-facing brands.
• A strong visual portfolio that demonstrates command of graphic design, color theory, typography, illustration, and conceptual thinking.
• You can tackle a brief with a strong sense of visual storytelling, audience insights, and content judgment and apply an understanding of current design trends with a fresh angle.
• Excellent knowledge of the modern media landscape, including the potential and limitations of digital and emerging platforms.
• Great communicator and positive attitude: you can articulate decisions clearly and effectively across all functions and levels.
• Thrive under pressure in a busy, often quickly-changing environment of Sports Design.
• A good understanding of project management tools like Trello and creative tools like Adobe suite and Figma.
• The ability to give and receive candid and constructive feedback.
• You can communicate design decisions clearly and effectively across all functions and levels.
