Division Overview:
Data plays a central role at CBS Interactive, and as part of the Data & Insights Group (DIG), our Business Intelligence team is a crucial part of our success. It drives business, product, and operational decisions by providing rich data, strategic insights, and analytical products. We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who is passionate about data and entertainment and who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will primarily work on, though not limited to, marketing initiatives related to our subscription streaming product, Paramount .
Paramount is our premiere streaming service where you can watch all your favorite hit CBS shows, originals, CBS classics, and live TV with additional content from BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Smithsonian Channel, plus hundreds of movies. There's something for every mood and every family member.
Role Details:
Senior BI Analysts take ownership of projects from conception to delivery, working closely with cross-functional teams to answer key business questions through high-impact data analysis, insights, and storytelling. This role will be primarily responsible for reporting and analyzing the subscriber life cycle from acquisition and conversion through retention. The person hired will work closely with a variety of stakeholders with a focus on marketing and finance to answer both strategic and tactical questions related to our premium streaming subscription services.
Your Day-to-Day:
• Effectively communicate and translate quantitative findings (storytelling with data), make and defend meaningful conclusions and recommendations, identify and interpret trends and relationships to products and business stakeholders.
• Mentor other Business Intelligence Analysts on methodology, best practices, and data visualization design to build dashboards and reports that illustrate how key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics are changing over time. Provide ''color'' and insights from the findings and make recommendations to the business.
• Leading discussions with the data customers to get to the heart of their business needs. Source the necessary data and apply the proper analysis techniques to clean and process the dataset. Create reports that showcase the results of the analysis with impact and drives action.
Key Projects:
• Build dashboards (using Tableau and other BI tools) that illustrate how key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics are changing over time. Provide ''color'' and insights from the findings and make recommendations to the business.
• Own lifetime value reporting (LTV) including refining and improving the methodology as the business changes
• Create detailed analyses that deepen our understanding of subscriber behavior, their propensity to convert, retain, or churn and provide recommendations on how to optimize around these findings
What you bring to the team:
You have –
• BA/BS. 3 years experience in web analytics, online media industry.
• Strong experience in web analytics, video analytics (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) and 3rd-party syndicated audience measurement services (comScore/ Nielsen)
• Understanding of web, native app, video measurement technology and standards
• Proficient with analytical tools and languages supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization - Excel, Microsoft Office, Google Collaborative Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Tableau, R, Python
• Experience extracting data from databases using SQL
• Strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy and good grammar
• Exceptional communicator across all levels of the organization; able to effectively tell stories with data and present findings to a non-technical audience

• Strong mathematics, statistics background
• Experience using project management tools like those from Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery)
