The Director of Accounts Payable ensures accounting and operational processes, resources and controls are optimized in support of the business objectives. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and is responsible for a shared service Accounts Payable environment. Strong financial controls, technical accounting acumen and management play a key role in the success of this position.
Essential Functions
• Manage Accounts Payable department, including Contributions, Suppliers, Garnishments, Unclaimed Property, and Workers Compensation reporting and payments for Canada
• Managing service level commitments and evaluation of workflow processes to improve efficiency
• Preparation of A/P related accounts reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Monthly review of Aging reports and quarterly calculation of reserves
• Provide analysis and reporting of key operational metrics, productivity and related measures to support executive decision making
• Manage the internal corporate card program and expense reporting
• Assist the Corporate Accounting team in the annual audits
• Assist with development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
• Hire, manage, develop and retain a professional shared service Accounts Payable organization
• Maintain a Sarbanes-Oxley approach to process and control documentation to drive best practices
and ensure compliance with all Company policies
• 3-4 direct reports, supporting approximately 19 FTE's
• Special projects and other tasks as required

Requirements
• Degree in Accounting or finance related field
• Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressive related financial, business experience and at least 4 years in management of Accounts Payable or Accounting
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with large enterprise financial systems required, preferable Oracle Financials
• Experience in the entertainment and/or film production industry including knowledge of guild/union payments and reporting a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Physical Demands
• SEDENTARY - Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, or pull. Involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
