Unclaimed Property Specialist

This is a Full Time Job

The Unclaimed Property Specialist is responsible in ensuring that the Company is following proper unclaimed property reporting and payments. The Unclaimed process would include all types of the Company's Accounts Payable, act as the point of contact for all vendors and production employees via phone, mail and email, and maintenance of the Accounts Payable and Unclaimed property files.

Essential Functions

Responsible for tracking every statutory, regulatory and administrative item pertaining to Unclaimed Property
Evaluate the impact of new statutory, regulatory and administrative items
Maintain a schedule for the 50 states due dates and requirements, and provinces in Canada
Proficient knowledge and utilization of both the payroll system and finance accounting system
Attempt to reach vendors and production employees for reissuing payments
Reissuing payments to vendors and production employees
Remit the necessary filings timely to each applicable state
Analyze reporting requirements for each state
Collaborate with Treasury Department for payment processing
Review monthly aging reports for Unclaimed Property
Maintain Unclaimed Property files including vendor storage
Other projects as assigned from time to time

Requirements

Degree in Finance required
A high-level of knowledge in Unclaimed Property is necessary in both the US and Canada.
Knowledge of standard Accounts Payable office procedures and policies
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Familiarity with basic bookkeeping skills
Typing and 10-key data entry proficiency required
Excellent time management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook
Self-motivated, must be able to work independently, goal oriented
