Summer Intern - Entertainment Law

We are seeking a law school student in the DC area that can assist with the Carter Law Group's Principal Attorney J. Carter (aka The Entertainment Esquire) firm work and brand work.
Internship Start Date/Season: Summer Intern
Internship Duration: Immediately through August 2026 (with option to renew through Fall Semester end in December)
Time/Days Required: Monday-Thursday (4 hours per day) and Friday Weekly Meeting
Workplace Requirements: Hybrid- Remote work with some in person assignments at events, filming's and trials.
First choice goes to persons that can use the internship for law school credit.
*Duties and Responsibilities
1) Carter Law Group and The Entertainment Esquire
-Draft and review various contracts and agreements
-Draft and review demand / cease and desist letters
-Complete Intake and Review documentation for Will and Estate Clients
-Assist with contract negotiation
-Assist formation of businesses in all 50 states
-Assist with licensing and likeness matters
-Filing Copyrights Applications and answering office actions
-Filing Trademark Application and answering office actions
-Legal Research for client matters
-Development and Research of topics for Entertainment Show and News Segments
-Attend and assist with Entertainment Esquire news segments, events and trials
2) Administrative
-Social media management (including creation of content) for Entertainment Esquire Brand
-Submit Client Bids for new cases
-Handle case referrals for non entertainment/business matters
-Handle press inquiries for Entertainment Esquire host and brand
-Scheduling Client Consultations
-Complete Client Intake
-Other Calls And Emails
-Other duties assigned by Principal Carter
Perks:

Position Requirements:
• • Must have experience with all social media platforms and preferably creating/editing video and flyer content.
• • Demonstrated law school academic achievement and interest in entertainment and arts
• • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• • Must be a team-player who works well in a collaborative environment.
• • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
• • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects.
-• Solid knowledge of PC/Mac, Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word) and preferably working knowledge of Final Cut Pro (IMovie) and Adobe.
