Summer Intern - Casting

This is a Full Time Unpaid Internship

Caparelliotis Casting (formerly MelCap Casting) is seeking a fulltime casting intern for the fall of 2015. Current Broadway: Fish in the Dark and An Act of God. Past Broadway includes: It's Only a Play, Disgraced, Holler If Ya Hear Me, Orphans, The Trip to Bountiful, Grace, Dead Accounts, Seminar, Stick Fly, The House of Blue Leaves, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, Lend Me a Tenor, Everyday Rapture, and the Tony award winning revivals of Death of a Salesman and Fences. In addition to these commercial projects, Caparelliotis Casting also casts for such NYC theatres as Second Stage, Atlantic, Ars Nova, and MTC, and such regional theatres as The Old Globe, The Goodman, ACT, McCarter Theatre and Arena Stage. Recent TV/film credits include: American Odyssey (NBC), How To Get Away With Murder (ABC pilot), Ironside for NBC, Steel Magnolias for Lifetime and the indie HairBrained.

Duties include heavy phone work, calling out and confirming appointments, putting together casting sessions, filing, tracking and documenting avails, data entry, Starbucks runs, etc. Terrific phone manner a must. We are seeking candidates looking for academic credit for this internship, but are open to others with prior casting experience, strong office skills, a good attitude, and a genuine interest in casting. Candidates with good senses of humor and an ability to roll with the punches strongly favored. Ideal candidates will be available to start mid to late August through the end of 2015.
