The Role
The Strategic Communications Manager will focus on identifying external and internal communications opportunities, and help develop and implement communications strategies for the Agency's DEI, philanthropic, and Human Resources areas. This role is ideal for someone highly driven to provide exceptional strategic support and insight to colleagues, clients and business partners.
The Department
The Corporate Communications department manages global external communications on behalf of CAA, including media relations, speaking engagements, advertising, social media, and events, in addition to global internal communications. The department includes a Strategic Communications team; Digital Marketing team, overseeing CAA's social media and web presence; Events Team; and Creative Services team of video editors/producers and graphic designers.
Job Responsibilities
• Help develop and execute public relations strategies focused on key external audiences, to ensure consistent and clear messaging that aligns with business objectives
• Work closely with agents, clients, and external business partners to gather critical information and provide communications counsel to achieve desired outcomes
• Draft and edit press releases and other communications vehicles for dissemination to targeted media outlets
• Manage outgoing stories and incoming press inquiries
• Help prepare executives and/or clients for press interviews
• Build and foster relationships with key external media partners
• Help create and implement strategies for communicating key information internally
• Draft and edit companywide emails and other materials
• Help prepare colleagues for internal presentations
• Identify and secure relevant speaking opportunities for CAA executives and agents
• Support the strategic communications executive team in its efforts to achieve communications goals
• Conduct research to support communications planning and manage wide sets of information
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, PR or related field preferred
• 3-6 years of experience in a communications role
• Organizes and prioritizes well, has a high sense of urgency, and meets deadlines
• Pays meticulous attention to detail
• Exhibits strong writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills
• Consistently demonstrates professionalism, maturity, integrity, and inclusiveness
• Anticipates needs and is flexible in adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Maintains a highly committed work ethic and drive to succeed in a service organization
