The Role
CAA Sports is seeking a Sales marketer to join the Basketball department to source, develop, and execute marketing partnership opportunities for our client roster. Partnerships may include digital media, social media, endorsements, activations and more.
Responsibilities
• Pro-actively seek, negotiate, and deliver new partnership opportunities for CAA basketball clients including a high volume of cold outreach to brands including cold calls, e-mails, direct messages, etc. with a focus on NIL, regional marketing deals, and car dealerships
• Research brands and marketing opportunities for basketball clients
• Serve as point of contact with new potential brand partners
• Support basketball clients with camp and event sponsorship as well as securing product
• Create and present pitches and new business opportunities to internal and external facing partners
• Support clients on a day-to-day basis in their marketing needs
Requirements
• 1-3 years of prior experience in sports marketing and entertainment
• Ability to create marketing decks and materials
• Complex understanding of basketball, NIL, current sports industry, and the nature of a talent agency
• Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Focusing on Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Power Point
• Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
• Working knowledge of the digital landscape in media, design and technology
• Ability to lead creative direction and work independently with an extreme attention to detail
• Effective presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas
• Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects and expectations; and maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities
• Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Understanding of contemporary design, internet, and cultural trends
Location
This position will be based out of New York.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $60,000 -70,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
