Job Description
The Role
The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for supporting day-to-day sourcing related activities; including data collection, spend analysis, financial modeling, bidding, vendor negotiations, contracting, measuring savings & tracking deal benefits, periodic contract audits, and various ad-hoc sourcing activities.
General sourcing responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
• Analyzing spend to identify cost savings opportunities
• Execute Sourcing bid process including developing bidder list, issuing bids, reviewing bid responses for accuracy, contacting vendors for bid clarifications and analyzing bids for final negotiations
• Research vendor pricing to conduct internal benchmarking or market price
• Track contract deal points (spend, savings, commissions, rebates all other deal enhancers)
• Coordinate and attend internal and external meetings/conference calls documenting stakeholder needs/issues/event requirements and summarizing next steps/action items needed to initiate project plan
• Maintain and routinely update sourcing project & savings tracker and solicit updates from appropriate team members
• Create and maintain a dynamic ''preferred vendor'' list & project pipeline that allows team to plan accordingly
• Assist with standardizing and streamlining all communications related to the bid and contracting process
• Track and report all deal benefits to share with senior management
• Ability to put together executive level presentations communicating project benefits
• Periodic audit of bills to ensure negotiated deal benefits are realized and there are no overcharges
• Conduct vendor outreach and support building preferred vendor lists
Daily activities include:
• Current and projected vendor spend analysis
• Supplier and industry research
• Workflow and process documentation and analysis
• Bid and proposed deal term analysis
• Negotiation approach and strategy development
• Contract drafting and review
• Stakeholder communication and alignment
• Executive level presentations
• Project management of sourcing-related activities
• Suppler communication and on-going management
Qualifications/Skills
Basic qualifications:
• Relevant industry experience
• Minimum 3-5 years related experience in finance, operations, strategic sourcing and/or supply chain disciplines
• Bachelor's degree in Business or other quantitative discipline, MBA preferred
• Self-motivated individual
• Highly professional, customer-service oriented, and collaborative
• Excellent communicator with the ability to adapt style depending on audience
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Superior time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with focus while managing to priority and deliverables
• Strong financial analysis skills, with understanding of financial statements, accounting, and financial modeling
Desired skills:
• Knowledge and interest in key sourcing areas such Facilities, Travel & Events
• Knowledge of global supply base
• Experience developing business cases
• Strong analytical skills; MS Excel proficient; financial modeling preferred
• Strong written and communication skills; MS PowerPoint, MS Word proficient
• Ability to work independently as well as lead and participate in cross functional teams
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Excellent documentation and requirements analysis
Required Education
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
