This is a Full Time Job
The Benefits Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of health and welfare benefit programs. This position will manage eligibility, employee inquiries, invoicing, budgeting, communication, and regulatory compliance in addition to conducting periodic utilization and costing analysis. This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite in the LA office. Work hours are Monday – Friday from 9AM – 6PM PT with lunch from 1-2PM.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and manage a variety of annual projects including, but not limited to, annual enrollment, ACA statements and filings, 5500 filings, Medicare Part D filings, non-discrimination testing, miscellaneous governmental filings, and other projects as assigned; ensure accurate and timely completion of all projects.
• Perform utilization and costing analysis to understand the efficacy, desirability, and accessibility of employee benefit programs; recommend new programs, changes to programs, or cessation of programs and implement as approved.
• Develop and execute annual communication campaigns to support a variety of initiatives including annual enrollment and well-being.
• Manage day-to-day vendor interactions; work collaboratively to resolve issues while escalating complex or particularly sensitive issues to the next higher level.
• Maintain an understanding of current, new, and developing legislation and design trends affecting employee benefit programs; recommend changes to ensure continued compliance and value and implement as approved.
• Work collaboratively with HR leadership to continuously evaluate and modify benefit programs and operational processes to ensure that benefit programs are meeting employee needs and that operational processes are accurate and efficient; ensure effective communication within HR on key issues affecting employees.
• Develop and administer, as approved, a variety of financial and health programs to support the company's overall well-being initiatives.
• Manage all systems and files used in the administration of employee benefit programs; including maintaining data integrity, ensuring successful data exchange, evaluating user experience, requesting, or delivering enhancements, recommending system changes, and participating in implementations.
• Respond to a variety of employee inquiries and identify opportunities to minimize employee issues through efficient eligibility operations, timely and effective communication strategies, and value-added vendor partnerships or solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Five plus years of benefits administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivelent experience.
• Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations relating to benefit plans and all applicable laws relating to benefit administration (including FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA, and ERISA).
• Experience with payroll is a plus.
• Ability to solve complex issues involving new or changing situations.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously; using skills and business knowledge to effectively organize and prioritize activities to successfully meet deadlines and budget targets.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within and without the organization.
• Ability to organize and analyze data to recommend and support business decisions.
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including, but not limited to, employees, co-workers, management, and vendors.
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest degree of integrity.
• Ability to work independently.
• Entertainment experience preferred
LOCATION
This role will be based in our Los Angeles office Monday - Thursday, with the flexibility to work remote on Friday and one other weekday (as agreed upon with direct supervisor).
COMPENSATION
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $125,000 - 140,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
