The Department
Our CAA Human Resources team works across the entire agency to support our people and businesses. We hire, welcome, integrate, and provide learning opportunities for our colleagues. The Role
The Head, Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is a business-minded, experienced diversity and inclusion leader who reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and partners closely with the HR team, Senior Leaders across the agency, Colleagues, Communications, and additional stakeholders to drive and build upon the company's inclusion efforts on a global basis. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategy that drives the organization forward.
The Executive must be strategic, results-oriented, and collaborative with an approach that is responsive and aligned with CAA's core values.
Success in this role will require deep expertise and influential partnerships across the company to develop and execute the DEIB strategies. The dynamic nature of this organization requires a leader who has a great ability to connect with people and drive DEIB programs from ideas to actionable solutions with measurable results.
Leadership & Engagement
• Create, refresh, and and execute a global DEIB strategy that will sustain the company and enable an inclusive environment globally across all our businesses
• Partner with the HR team to proactively to build upon our people systems as well as identify and address issues
• Ensure alignment between DEIB objectives with the overall CAA objectives, strategies, and values
• Understand and continually communicate the ''whys'' of our focus on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the success of the company and for each department
• Work with leaders, employees and HR to ensure a positive and engaging work environment for all CAA employees
• Guide community togetherness including but not limited to commemorations, celebrations, reflection, and internal response to societal/community issues – on an ongoing basis and whenever required
• Partner with the CHRO and HR Leadership Team to ensure centrality of DEIB in all aspects of the organization's people work and systems, particularly in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, and development
• Partner closely with Company senior leadership of every department to develop a specific DEIB plans for their departments locally and globally
• Serve as a coach and counselor to senior leaders and managers on matters of equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging
• Lead a team of Inclusion professionals; manage, develop, and support the growth of the team
• Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Inclusion principles and practices for the company where relevant
Development & Innovation
• Develop and ensure execution on a DEIB learning map and programs by continually developing relevant content, evaluating sessions, and keeping Inclusion top of mind for the company
• Partner with full HR Leadership team and Corporate Communication to ensure DEIB work and best practices are effectively communicated and deployed throughout CAA, and externally when necessary
• Guide the support and development of the Employee Committees. Provide guidance to ensure employees have a space to receive support and contribute to the support of other colleagues
• Identify and support opportunities, programs, and pipelines for underrepresented employees to advance
• Facilitate collaboration and forums through where employees can strategize around Inclusion needs
Data & Insights
• Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks
• Collects, monitors, and reports on data regarding diversity, equity, inclusion goals as well as recruitment, hiring, and attrition trends in collaboration with the HR team
• Leverages multiple sources of data to provide insights and suggest action plans
• Ability to communicate the relationship between business success and DEIB initiatives
Requirements and Responsibilities
Education
and experience:
• Graduate level degree (MA, MS, MD, JD, PhD, or other Degree) in a related field strongly preferred
• 10+ years developing and implementing diversity programs
• Strong understanding of corporate structures in a for-profit setting
• Experience working in entertainment, media or sports preferred
• Technical mastery of diversity issues as it relates to all people systems including recruitment, retention, development, and compensation
• Significant, demonstrated track record of leadership in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion including race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and disability
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $250,000-$400,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria. Job Location, Hours and Travel
• Typical days and hours of work are: The role will be based in our Los Angeles office Monday - Thursday, 9:00am – 6:00pm with the flexibility to work remote on Friday and one other weekday (as agreed upon with direct supervisor).
• Some out-of-state travel may be required in order to implement strategic HR initiatives with various team members at our multiple office locations
