The Role
The Logistics Director is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of logistics services across the organization. This includes mailroom operations, shipping and receiving, internal moves, records retention and management, offsite storage, and other operational support functions. The role ensures efficient, standardized, and compliant service delivery across locations, aligning with both business needs and enterprise-wide policies.
This position requires a strong operator with expertise in logistics and records governance, capable of implementing scalable processes and leading high-performing teams across diverse functional areas.
Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Management
• Lead and manage logistics functions including mailroom operations, courier services, interoffice pouch systems, shipping and receiving, and internal/external deliveries.
• Oversee internal move logistics (people, furniture, equipment) in coordination with Facilities and IT.
• Manage day-to-day operations related to office supply inventory, printer station replenishment, and asset movement.
Records Retention & Storage Oversight
• Own and manage the company's records retention program, including oversight of physical records, offsite storage, retrieval protocols, and compliance with company policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Establish and enforce standards for document classification, storage duration, and secure destruction in partnership with Legal, IT, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain strong relationships with storage vendors and ensure accurate tracking and reporting of archived materials.
• Conduct periodic reviews and audits of stored records to ensure ongoing compliance and operational efficiency.
Team & Vendor Oversight
• Lead logistics teams across offices; set expectations, provide training, and promote operational consistency and service excellence.
• Manage vendor performance across courier, storage, move, and supply providers; track SLAs, conduct regular reviews, and escalate issues as needed.
Process Improvement & Standardization
• Document logistics procedures and maintain up-to-date training guides across supported locations.
• Continuously assess and optimize workflows to improve speed, accuracy, cost-efficiency, and employee experience.
• Leverage technology to improve records tracking, shipping requests, inventory, and service requests.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with Facilities, Procurement, HR, Legal, and IT to ensure integrated logistics support that aligns with operational and compliance objectives.
• Support enterprise initiatives such as space planning, reconfigurations, and business continuity plans by providing logistics execution and coordination.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure adherence to records retention schedules, chain-of-custody protocols, and proper handling of confidential or regulated materials.
• Promote safety, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation practices related to freight, storage, and material handling.
Requirements
• 8–10+ years of experience in logistics, operations, or corporate services, with direct responsibility for records retention and/or storage programs.
• Deep understanding of records management best practices, including storage lifecycle, compliance, and destruction protocols.
• Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
• Proven success managing multi-site logistics teams and operational service delivery.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a bias toward process improvement.
• Familiarity with enterprise logistics, records management systems, and workflow tools.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Location
This role is on-site Monday through Thursday in our Los Angeles offices and work remotely on Fridays.
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $ $1 80 ,000 - $2 10 ,000 . This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
