The Director will be responsible for comprehensive financial activities in
cluding, but not limited to, the monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-term analysis of all business units within CAA Sports. The role includes managing a team of Analysts / Associates, working with business unit leaders both domestically and internationally, and producing various analysis for quarterly Board presentations, annual operating plans, revised forecasts, long-range plans, monthly financial packages, among other outputs. The Director will work closely with the Associates, Sports Leadership, Corporate Finance Leadership, Agents and Executives within various Sports groups, and other Corporate groups.
Responsibilities
The Director's primary responsibilities include the following:
• Become a go-to financial resource for comprehensive and detailed analysis for Sports and Company Leadership
• Lead in the development of the Sports annual operating plans, revised forecasts, long-range plans, and Board Decks
• Manage a team of Analysts / Associates to ensure career development and growth through consistent mentoring, regular feedback, and work recognition
• Develop Operating Reviews by analyzing industry trends, reports, data, risks, and opportunities as well as internal financials and key metrics to provide detailed analysis and commentary on company-specific data and the sports industry landscape
• Prepare monthly reporting decks and various detailed analyses for Sports and Corporate Finance Leadership
• Initiate self-guided projects to drive profitability and growth, reduce expenses, increase efficiencies, and find opportunities
• Develop and track key financial metrics including to spot trends and communicate performance to Management
• Cultivate strong relationships to build a robust communication network and to assist in business improvement
• Stay abreast of industry trends and client activity related to contracts, endorsements, risks and opportunities
• Assist M&A efforts by producing various detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis as requested
• Work closely with Tech Division to maintain tools and to create new tools as needed to improve efficiency and output
• Track and forecast client revenues by analyzing booking report and contract data, working closely with key Division contacts
• Work closely with all Finance groups including Accounting, Treasury, AP, AR, and Trust to improve processes and workflows
• Lead the integration of new systems and software
• Support the CFO with ad hoc analysis as requested and work to automate analysis wherever possible
• Provide Management reports and analysis as requested through thorough research and analysis
• Assist in other financial areas as needed to aid in the development of annual tax schedules, Treasury analysis, and international growth
Qualifications
• BS or BA required with a concentration in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or other quantitative discipline preferred. MBA a plus.
• Minimum of eight years FP&A, investment banking, or other functions with detailed financial modeling experience required. Sports and/or Entertainment industry experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required. Requires exceptional time management, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Must have the ability to synthesize large data sets and present information at the executive level. Strong attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required.
Location
Hybrid-Monday through Thursday in the Los Angeles office, remote on Friday
Compensation: The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $142,000-$175,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
