Job Description
The Commercial Accountant is a key member of the Global Finance team. Responsible for the financial planning and analysis and associated financial reporting for the APAC Region of the CAA Portas Group. Through building relationships with the Consulting and Support teams, the Commercial Accountant will produce insightful financial information for decision makers which will support the optimisation of the financial performance of the Region within the wider context of the Group. Responsibilities to include:
• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts for the APAC region and global central functions, incorporating variance analysis commentary, rolling forecasts, and strategic financial insights for presentation to the APAC Regional Partner and Senior Leadership team.
• Execute and oversee the month-end close process in accordance with CAA's established deadlines and internal controls.
• Maintain accurate and current revenue forecast trackers for the APAC region, ensuring data integrity and delivering actionable insights to the Regional Partner.
• Oversee timely and accurate maintenance of the company's project management system for the APAC region, collaborating with the Senior Commercial Accountant and system provider to drive optimum utilisation.
• Partner with Project Managers to monitor adherence to project budgets, proactively identify and escalate cost overruns, and ensure all requests for additional investment are submitted in compliance with the delegation of authority framework.
• Administer the fee estimator process in line with the delegation of authority, and provide pricing guidance and decision support to project leads as required.
• Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of sales invoices in accordance with contractual terms for the region.
• Support the Regional Partner and the central CAA Legal team in ensuring client contracts are executed prior to project commencement.
• Assist the Group Financial Controller in the preparation, submission, and filing of regional GST returns and statutory accounts.
• Support the payroll process for Singapore-based entities and perform the associated payroll reconciliations.
• Lead the statutory audit process for regional entities in Singapore and Japan.
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis in response to requests from the Regional Partner and Group Finance Director.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for central operational activities on behalf of the APAC Regional Partner.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Experience & Educational Qualifications
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent international qualification)
• Experience in a high growth sport or professional services organisation as a Commercial Accountant/Finance Business Partner
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years of post-qualification accounting experience.

• Xero experience ideal but not essential
• AI automation skills
• CMAP or other project management system experience
• Advanced MS Excel Skills
