This is a Full Time Job
The role is primarily focused on working within a team that advises sports leagues, teams, and federations as well as entertainment clients on the valuation, distribution, and monetization of their content rights. Our environment is collaborative, demanding, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial. Team members are encouraged to take on increasing levels of responsibility commensurate with their abilities. An Associate is a key team member on client engagements. Given the firm's lean structure, each team member takes an active, collaborative role in supporting deal teams, while also performing many tasks independently which maintaining high quality work product.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with senior executives to execute client and transaction-specific analyses within the sports media and technology sectors;
• Execute on deep data, financial, valuation, industry sizing, and market share focused analyses;
• Develop detailed presentations and other documents for clients, buyers, and internal executives;
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of key industry trends, client KPIs, and more, organizing findings and maintaining internal databases;
• Conduct in-depth research and prepare summary materials on relevant companies, industries, and transactions, primarily related to (but not limited to) sports teams, leagues, and federations;
• Review and analyze financial statements and catalog industry and market-specific data;
• Develop valuation analyses, which may include discounted cash flow, public trading comparables, and precedent transaction comparables methodologies;
• Develop and maintain contacts within the sports, entertainment, and media industries; and
• Be a proactive team member working in a lean, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
• 2-4 years of professional work experience at a top tier management / strategy consulting firm or investment bank;
• Bachelor's degree with superior academic performance;
• Significant interest in the sports and media sector;
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to quickly learn new software applications, if needed;
• Strong quantitative and analytic skillset; experience working with and deriving insights from large datasets;
• Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills; capable of distilling complex concepts into easy-to-understand materials through data visualization and advanced slide design;
• Proficient in financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation methodology;
• Excellent research capabilities, with ability to independently and expeditiously become educated on wide range of topics;
• Outstanding work ethic, organizational skills, client service mindset, and eagerness to take initiative;
• High degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines;
• Ability to interface effectively with senior executives;
• Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects or initiatives simultaneously; and
• Ability to work both independently and function as part of a team.
• Local (or willing to relocate) to the New York City area
• Work authorization in the U.S. required (without sponsorship)
• Ability to travel to on an as-needed basis (including internationally)
Location
• This role will be based in the New York office.
Compensation: T he annual base salary for this position is in the range of $110,000 - $140,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
