Job Description
THE ROLE:
The Assistant, Television Research will have an opportunity to gain experience that will be useful in understanding all aspects of the television industry. The ideal candidate should have the ability to objectively analyze ratings information under direction of management for both the broadcast and cable arenas, and write meaningful and easily digestible bullet points for various shows.
RESPONSIBILITES:
• Administrative duties including handling phones, calendar management, scheduling travel, preparing expense reports and general office management tasks
• Run regular ratings reports
• Reviewing and writing summaries of syndicated reports, produce regular reports/memos on industry trends
• Responding to ad hoc requests and other projects as requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Internship to 1 year of experience working with ratings at a studio, syndicator, agency, station, broadcast network or cable network
• General knowledge of the television business and evolving trends
• Have some exposure to Nielsen's Galaxy Explorer and Overnight systems
• Familiarity with social media research a plus
• Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects and expectations; and maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities
• Attention to detail and strong organization skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality
• Effectively communicate and interact with employees at all levels
• Adept at quickly learning new processes, technology, and ability to assimilate oneself and become familiar with existing systems
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite
Education
• BA/BS from an accredited University of College strongly preferred
