Job Description
The Role
We are looking for an Assistant to support the Business Affairs Executive in our growing Media Finance Group in Los Angeles.
The office's primary responsibility is to help package, finance, and sell films outside of the studio system. The position will work closely with projects for the entire Media Finance group as well as with financiers, attorneys, and film distributors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for independent film, the entertainment business and an interest in the negotiation and deal process. Additionally, the Assistant is administratively capable of handling a high volume of tasks with an exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to track all stages of agreements.
Responsibilities
Administrative duties include handling heavy phones, calendar management, scheduling travel, booking reports, preparing expense reports, and general office management tasks. Additionally this role will track contracts, and move legal documents through the process. They will serve as first point of contact with agents and executives. Assist with special projects, research, flagging trades and news, and compiling information as needed.
Qualifications
• 10 months + of professional working experience in an administrative or project management capacity.
• Ability to work well under pressure; meet tight deadlines; balance multiple projects and expectations; and maintain a sharp focus while managing competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills; written and verbal.
• Attention to detail a must, follow-up, and strong organizational skills are a requirement.
• Strong interpersonal skills, while understanding the importance of maintaining confidentiality is a must.
• Adept at quickly learning new processes, technology, and become familiar with existing systems.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite.
Education
• BA/BS from an accredited University or College preferred.
• JD or demonstrated interest in legal or business affairs preferred.
