THE POSITION
Are you looking for an exciting internship experience? Our paid Internship Program offers real-world exposure for students interested in the live entertainment industry. Throughout the program, you'll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the live event business while applying your academic knowledge to real-world situations. You'll also strengthen your leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills along the way.
This part-time position requires 15–20 hours per week. Interns are expected to work in our Austin office Tuesday through Thursday, so please ensure your availability aligns with these days. The internship runs through the Summer and Fall semesters, beginning June 23, 2026, and concluding November 19, 2026.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Gain experience in all aspects of the Merchandise team; including the process of creating, producing, shipping, and selling a music festival merchandise collection
• Learn the operations, logistics, and production behind large-scale live events
• Help with creative decision-making, contribute graphic design assistance as needed
• Assist with parallel merchandise revenue streams, such as ecommerce and specialty retail projects
• Provide general administrative support as needed
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Gain an understanding of the role of merchandise as a revenue stream in the overall landscape of a music festival and glimpse the entire life cycle of a merchandise collection from initial ideation to festival, as well as post-event inventory management
• Learn overall department administration, fundamentals of festival merchandise planning, and how to address the logistical challenges of building and running merchandise locations at large-scale, high-traffic events
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Understanding and proficiency with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
• Basic understanding of data analysis for retail business operations
• Preferred interest in music industry, fashion, retail, current trends
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and initiative
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Exercises sound judgment with professionalism and discretion
• Able to commit to 15-20 hours per week, with in-office availability Tuesday through Thursday
• Ability to bring a personal laptop to the office
