Senior Producer (Contract)
BuzzFeed News is seeking an experienced London-based Senior Producer with strong editorial judgement for an upcoming weekly talk show about what's popular in television. To succeed in this role, you have a proven track record of leading a production team, delivering compelling visual content, and executing on a live-to-tape show. The ideal Senior Producer has a strong command of the television landscape and the conversations that unfold around TV on social media. You must be detail-oriented, creative thinkers and leaders with an ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The show is 30-minutes once a week for 12 weeks, with several weeks of pre-production. This is likely a 3 day per week job, with the possibility of 5 days per week.
Responsibilities
include:
• Overseeing hosts and production team on selecting assets, choosing segments/stories, and writing scripts based on weekly/daily events and day-of conversations and other hot topics
• Leading production operations for entire show
• Collaborating with digital audience and curation teams on editorial and social video
• Creating tight timelines and ensuring team meets deadlines for smooth production.
• Executing on sponsored editorial segments
Requirements:
• 7-9 years of producer experience, ideally for a digital show or one prioritizing digital/social engagement. Experience in branded content a plus.
• Extensive knowledge of the television landscape, including streaming services, popular shows/characters/conversations, and the shows capturing the current zeitgeist.
• Strong editorial judgement
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and handle quickly-evolving news situations
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and stay organized in a high-pressure news environment
• Quick turnaround (same-day) live-to-tape production experience
