Senior Producer, Tasty (Project Based)
About BuzzFeed, Inc.
The Role
Tasty is looking for an experienced video professional who can consistently bring strong ideas to the table and creatively execute on them in a timely manner and within budget. Must be a native of the digital and pop culture landscape with intimate knowledge of digital video platforms, food content and emerging technology/platforms.
You will work on cross-functional projects between editorial, tech, business and admin to support new revenue opportunities, streamline communication and provide perspective as an editorial stakeholder. You'll work closely with the GM of Tasty & Lifestyle and the Head of Product & Monetization Strategy to support priority initiatives.
The ideal candidate has a background in digital video production and an obsession with storytelling and creating viral food content. You'll develop, produce, and potentially edit content across all our Tasty platforms. You'll mentor junior team members and work collaboratively with other producers on your team, as well as with other teams across BuzzFeed.
You Will
• Create, produce, shoot and edit Tasty content and shows as necessary
• Brainstorm and pitch opportunities for original videos and cross-functional initiatives
• Oversee mid- to large-scale projects including social activations, sponsored videos and emerging platform opportunities, developing and producing creative that achieves the goals of each project while staying true to the Tasty voice
• Make creative, fun, and social-driven food shows that people will like and share across our platforms
• Identify trending formats, creators and products the team can use in their content
• From brainstorming to on-schedule asset delivery, deliver videos that drive views and engagement on social media channels
• Develop clever ways to illustrate video concepts
• Research and write scripts; develop treatments, shot lists, and breakdowns as necessary
• Deliver polished edits that illustrate a keen understanding of what works on social media; shift between editing, as needed, and overseeing editors
• Conceptualize and execute new editorial formats with an eye towards creating sponsorable products for the direct sold team
You Have
• 5-7 years of experience with video production and familiarity with DSLR cameras, lighting, editing, and audio recording.
• 5-7 years proven experience creating compelling food content for the web
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Photoshop)
• A thorough understanding of digital video platforms and what makes content shareable
• Excellent organizational, prioritization and communication skills
• The ability to work independently while remaining an excellent collaborator
• A positive and curious disposition and a genuine love for and excitement about food and social media
• Experience working with clients and/or cross-functional teams to execute on a common goal
