The Role
If you love online shopping and know TikTok better than anyone, this role is for you.
BuzzFeed is looking for a contracted Junior Social Media Strategist to join our team in New York til the end of 2021 with possible extension beyond. You will work on content strategy, external talent & product management and publish content on social platforms. The ideal candidate is a digital native with a deep understanding of what makes content shareable and an obsession for finding the next viral product on the internet. This role reports to the Senior Social Strategist, Social Squad.
Please Note: We are currently working remotely but expect to eventually return to our offices when it is safe to do so, likely in the fall.
You Will
• Analyze and track performance data and surface team wins
• Identify when an area of focus isn't working and pivot
• Support social team in service of larger strategic needs when opportunities arise
• Strategize on content frames and products for commerce-focused content
• Manage the content calendar & publishing for key commerce social pages
• Support Senior strategist with content & talent management
• Analyze and track performance data and surface team wins
• Communicate and brainstorm with content creators and Shopping team to achieve goals and meet deadlines, analyzing and reporting on social performance, trends, and new opportunities.
• Help maintain the cheery and collaborative BuzzFeed culture with a positive attitude and obsession with the things people are sharing, liking, recommending and talking about on the internet
• Produce ideas for Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, the App, Apple News and more
You Have
• 2 years experience making content on social platforms OR running social accounts for a major publisher or brand
• Basic graphic design skills
• Social media experience and data analysis skills
• Experience with Content Creation a plus
• An understanding of online customer's buying behaviors
• Be a self-motivated person who isn't afraid to carve out new responsibilities for themselves
• Understand Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, etc., and why content on those platforms became popular
• Have a positive, curious, playful disposition
• A genuine love for and excitement about shopping
