The Role
BuzzFeed is seeking a Creator Success Manager to support the Creator/Talent Partnerships Team – one of BuzzFeed's strategic growth areas that includes its Creators' Program, operating as Catalyst, and larger on-camera talent focused initiatives. The Creators Program is one of BuzzFeed's key revenue and content drivers, covering the way BuzzFeed works with talent & personalities - Instagram influencers, TikTokers, YouTubers, Twitch streamers - and anyone else with a passion for viral storytelling. This role works cross-functionally between our partners at Meta, the Editorial teams for HuffPost & BuzzFeed News, and the Creators/Talent Partnerships team. This role will collaborate with Casting to identify, attract and retain top-tier talent for BuzzFeed, Inc. In supporting these programs, you will have the opportunity to work with established and emerging Creators, contribute to a strategic partnership with Meta, and collaborate with some of the largest digital media brands in the world.
This role reports into the Deputy Director of Creators, tasked with executing on the success of a revenue-driving partnership working with Creators through a year-long Talent Residency. In this role you will manage the day-to-day of 10 short-form content Creators while developing programming focused in social content optimization, audience development, and Creator specific education. Your primary focus will be working directly with Creators to help develop and guide their careers and foster a 360 approach to supporting Creators at BuzzFeed.
The ideal candidate is passionate about working with talent and addicted to social media. They are interested in the creator economy, influencer branded content and are extremely content savvy. We are looking for someone who is extremely organized and a great communicator with people management experience. They must be a consistent and reliable resource for Talent, with a knack for relationship building and a passion for driving Creator success. Additionally, this individual is also in the know of all-things-culture, is up to date on current trends, and can speak to creators' content strategies.
We're looking for someone who is able to navigate a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with efficiency and maturity. A collaborator who is naturally organized and detail-oriented, enthusiastic about social media and all-things-BuzzFeed.
You Will
• Manage the overall experience and output of 10 short-form content Creators participating in the Meta Talent Residency
• Inspire strategic content ideation that acknowledges scale, audience, brand alignment, and the long-term goals of the individual Creator
• Serve as a primary point of contact to our partners at Meta; providing insights, best practices, feedback and reporting on the Talent Residency
• Provide written reports to Meta on a monthly basis during the program term, including: links to content, insight and creator feedback on Reels product and content creation, issues, challenges, best practices, etc.
• Support the building and execution of six Meta x BuzzFeed training session aimed to inspire Creators to make content for Facebook Reels
• Own development of best practice materials on creating short form content for Meta
• Develop knowledge of our Creators branded business and provide Creator suggestions based on incoming RFPs
• Coordinate with BuzzFeed PR for press announcements highlighting the Meta x BuzzFeed partnership & program
• Help with Creator/talent pipeline development for emerging Creators through constant social media scanning, outreach and testing
• Support the Creators team through business development and continued success of the program across BuzzFeed's advertising organization, content team, social publishing team, and strategic partnerships teams including via special projects or growth initiatives
• Contribute to internal marketing of Creators alongside Product Marketing to support regular communications and promotion of Creators internally including deck building, programming coordination and proactive pitching
You Have
• 3-5 years of experience working in the digital space with talent/Creators or digital content creation across advertising and marketing
• Extensive experience creating and publishing short-form content for TikTok and Instagram
• Experience managing high-priority partners in the digital media / social platform space
• A self-starter, who is creative and can execute on their vision independently
• Great partnership and relationship-building skills
• An eye for emerging talent and upcoming social trends
• Understanding of the digital landscape and a proven interest in keeping up to date with developments in social media platforms, trends & emerging talent
• A nuanced understanding of the importance of diversity, inclusion and belonging in the overall Creator and content space - strong DI&B principles should underscore your general decision-making and creative processes
