Social Video Editor

BuzzFeed Studios is looking for project-based video editors who know how to make social content pop. You should have a strong sense of pacing, an eye for what catches attention, and the ability to turn footage into a sharp edit on a tight timeline.

You'll work with our Marketing and Post Production teams on BuzzFeed and client content, from quick social cuts to scripted and unscripted videos. This role is a fit for an editor who can take ownership of an edit, respond well to notes, and keep work moving.

What you'll do:
Edit social videos in Adobe Premiere Pro, from assets + filmed footage from rough cut through final delivery.
Find the strongest hook, shape the story, and keep the pacing tight.
Adapt edits for platforms and formats, including vertical video.
Turn around cuts quickly, incorporate feedback, and explore alternate versions when the creative calls for it.
Add captions, graphics, music, and basic color and audio finishing as needed.
Keep projects organized, check your work before sharing, and flag footage or timeline issues early.

What we're looking for:
A reel or portfolio that shows strong social video editing, whether your experience comes from a professional team, freelance work, or your own projects.
Confidence editing in Adobe Premiere Pro.
A working feel for trends, platform conventions, and what makes a video engaging without making every edit look the same.
Good instincts for comedy, interviews, storytelling, or promotional content.
The ability to manage notes, communicate clearly, and stay organized through quick turnarounds.
Availability to work on site at our Hollywood or New York office as projects require.
Experience with After Effects, Photoshop, or additional languages is a plus, but it isn't required.
