Project-Based Technical Producer — Virtual Press Day (Zoom)

We’re looking for an experienced freelance Technical Producer to run a digital press day over Zoom as part of an upcoming content day. This person will manage the technical setup and live operation of the session, coordinate interview transitions, and keep the press schedule on track.

The day will run approximately 3-4 hours, with additional time required for advance preparation, a technical check, setup, and wrap.

Responsibilities
Review the interview schedule and confirm the Zoom workflow with production and publicity.
Configure and test the session on the designated Zoom account, including host permissions, waiting room, audio/video settings, and recording if required.
Set up pipe and drape and light the set for 1-5 talent.
Signal-path a junket-style virtual press set up that allows for an in-stage monitor for talent, and a remote video feed for attendees.
Conduct technical checks with talent and the production team before interviews begin.
Serve as the Zoom host and primary technical contact throughout the press day.
Admit and manage press participants, coordinate interview transitions, and provide time cues to keep sessions on schedule.
Land talent seating and flip chairs to accommodate the amount of talent on camera. Re-frame the camera accordingly.
Troubleshoot audio, video, connection, and access issues in real time.
Communicate delays or schedule changes to production and publicity.
If recording is required, manage recordings and confirm files are saved and handed off after the event.

Qualifications
Experience independently producing professional Zoom events; virtual press junket or entertainment publicity experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Canon C series camera bodies and second system sound methodologies.
Experience with simple interview lighting.
Strong knowledge of Zoom host controls, waiting rooms, participant permissions, and recording settings.
Experience managing timed interviews and working with talent, publicists, and media.
Organized, clear communicator who can troubleshoot quickly and stay calm during a live event.

Location: On Set - Hollywood
Commitment: 12 hr day, ½ day Prep day + Filming day
Compensation: $35/hr (12 hr day) or $500/day
