Disney Theatrical Group is in search of a Senior Paralegal to assist the legal team in our New York office. This position will partner with attorneys to draft and negotiate various agreements. The ideal candidate is a professional with keen attention to detail, a service-oriented attitude and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
• Draft agreements, including marketing agreements; vendor agreements; theatre rentals; and amendments to numerous agreements, such as rights, writers and directors, etc.
• Research and advise, under supervision of Manager, regarding vendor/production/venue insurance compliance and product licensing
• Review show reports for ongoing productions
• Prepare legal summaries for cast albums, subsidiary rights, subsequent company royalty charts, credit obligations and song royalty charts
• Commitment to actively being part of and supporting a diverse and inclusive theater and workplace by demonstrating welcoming, inclusive behavior to all guests and co-workers and maintaining a safe and professional working environment
• Attends and participates in equity, diversity & inclusion, anti-harassment, and any other anti-bias training and workshops as?required
Basic Qualifications:
The qualified applicant must hold a Bachelor degree. Theatre or entertainment experience /paralegal certificate is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting, negotiating, writing and computer skills as well as the ability to problem solve in a business-friendly, creative manner. All applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills, contract drafting skill, superior people skills and a team-oriented approach; and the ability to juggle and prioritize numerous assignments to service the needs of the Manager, the department attorneys and the rest of the Disney Theatrical team.
