Lead System Administrator
Brud is a transmedia studio that creates digital characters in story-driven worlds. We're hiring a Systems Administrator to help us bring those stories to life.
This position is responsible for maintaining, installing, and evaluating additions to our IT infrastructure. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and networking is required. Experience with VFX pipelines and cloud rendering is a huge plus. Additional responsibilities include managing system security, backups and additional hardware such as mocap devices.
Responsibilities include:
Implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows servers and services, Active Directory, NAS shares, group policies, and deploying applications
Strategize deployment of additional resources including workstations, servers, storage and backups
Assisting, troubleshooting and training staff in basic network and application use.
Diagnose and solve system hardware, software, and operator problems
Support internal pipeline development
Streamline system imaging, environment setup and software deployment
Inventory management of all hardware, software and licensing
Create and document workflows, technical policies, and procedures
Communicate technical support bulletins regarding security or procedures to staff
Assist in the maintenance and implementation of industry specific hardware and software such as motion capture equipment, photogrammetry equipment, etc.
Skills/qualifications:
Associate's degree in Computer Science/MIS-related area or equivalent work experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in system architecture and support
Deep knowledge of network protocols and optimization
Knowledge of Windows 10, MacOS, and Windows 2008/2012 Server
Working knowledge of Google Apps and other online office applications
Excellent client service, interpersonal, and communication skills
Self-starter able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision
Strong problem solving abilities and a can-do mindset
Additional qualifications:
Python and shell scripting experience
Basic knowledge of Maya, Nuke and other VFX applications a plus
Knowledge of editorial workflows, storage and backup solutions a plus
