Brooklyn Basement is seeking a Day to Day Artist Manager & Marketing Assistant. This is a full-time position. BBR is a label, management company and boutique marketing firm based in Nashville, TN. Brooklyn Basement works alongside artists with global reach while also representing some up-and-coming talents.
We are a team of music business professionals who got tired of the old model and created a business focused on the future of music, not the past. Every day at BBR is different; the ideal candidate has a strong background in the music business but is excited to learn more and grow over time.
Who You Are:
You love independent music. You're a proactive self-starter with initiative. You've got outstanding organizational skills, a positive outlook, excellent administration skills, and can prioritize time-sensitive tasks. Your understanding of social media, content strategy and task management systems like Asana are very strong. Working independently is just as comfortable for you as communicating effectively with a larger team because although you're at ease pinpointing and solving problems on your own, you also have excellent interpersonal skills and love to help the group get where they need to go. You meet deadlines, are detail-oriented, can multi-task, can pivot when unanticipated changes arise, and know how to handle a number of projects at once.
A degree in music business or equivalent 1-2 years of professional experience
Excellent understanding of task management and organizational software systems (Asana, Dropbox, Google Drive, Airtable)
Savvy in graphic design programs (Canva, Adobe)
Good understanding of how to utilize BandsinTown, Songkick and MasterTour.
Experience scheduling social media posts
What you will do:
Organize & maintain artist calendars & to-do lists for the management roster
Maintain artist management clients' tour calendars & software (BandsInTown, SongKick, MasterTour). Manages announcement schedule and collect ticket counts.
Organizes promotional itineraries for festivals, release week, or visiting artists
Maintain the main release calendar for Brooklyn Basement Records management & marketing clients
Work with manager on creating goals, marketing plans, and release timelines for artists. This person will assist in brainstorming fan engagement initiatives, contests, and other marketing drivers to achieve those goals.
Prepare releases for launch: Set deadlines for artists deliverables, Organize all assets, metadata, & album credits. Build out dropbox folders, Asana, Airtable, etc for each project as needed.
Create marketing materials & smart links
Coordinate with creative director on social media strategy
Prepare & maintain artist management client one-sheets
Disseminate information and promotional updates to external partners
Send weekly updates to the full roster of clients that will include campaign progress and any action items the artist or their team needs to complete.
Coordinate with venues on tour marketing for management roster
Prepare statistics for marketing use & update weekly stream reports when an artist is in an album cycle
Stay on top of trends & updates in social media and DSPs in an effort to implement them into future marketing plans
Run the main Brooklyn Basement Records social media accounts & playlists
Amend Brooklyn Basement website with artist news & artist EPK updates as needed.
Schedule social media posts for artists as needed
Assist with occasional special events
Participate in industry events
Overall, help the team stay on track with deadlines and upcoming releases
