We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about leading a public-access cable station, in the City of Brockton. The Executive Director is responsible for managing staff, daily administrative and operational duties, community outreach, and serves as the primary representative of BCA. The candidate should have 3-5 years of progressive managerial experience, preferably working at a PEG or Public Broadcasting Station, that focuses on serving an urban/multicultural community. The Executive Director should have a working knowledge of the Cable Television Act of 1984 and a track record of working within the federal compliance requirements for a PEG Broadcasting Service. In addition, the right candidate will foster a positive and professional environment that supports the organization's mission and goals.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES
- Leadership and Oversight: Lead and manage the staff and freelance volunteers, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all financial reports, including monthly internal financial statements, and the BCA budget documents, in compliance with applicable federal, state, and other regulations.
- Board Engagement: Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors and actively assist with strategic decision-making.
- Internal Control: Establish and maintain appropriate levels of internal control to safeguard BCA assets. Recommend, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to management.
- Vender Relations: Establish relationships with historical vendors that BCA has used for daily operational needs.
- Customer Service and Operational Excellence: Ensure BCA staff provide high levels of customer service at all times.
- Advanced Technical Knowledge: Possess cable television operations and proficiency in television program production.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college (master's preferred)
- 3-5 years of progressive managerial experience at a public broadcasting organization
- Experience in a PEG Station Broadcasting environment preferred
