The Marketing Assistant is a vital member of the Broadway In Boston (BIB) team, working with the Director of Marketing and marketing team on all initiatives throughout the BIB season. BIB is part of Broadway Across America (BAA) and also serves as the advertising agency of record for the long-running production of Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse.
JOB DESCRIPTION (position includes, but is not limited to):
Email - Concept, create and execute an effective email strategy including calendar, messaging, deployment and reporting. Collaborate with social media, sponsorship and group sales teams to make sure all constituencies are accurately represented and supported.
Website - Serve as the local lead on both content and functionality of the organization's website while working in conjunction with the New York-based web team.
Copywriting- brainstorm and write customer-facing copy in digital, email, and print advertising to help boost sales and maintain the Broadway In Boston brand.
Collateral - Manage all printed BIB pieces including front of house, street team flyers, window cards, brochures, mailings and more.
Program - Act as BIB's main point of contact with program book vendor, coordinating calendar of deliverables with both internal and external contacts.
Grassroots - Coordinate additional marketing opportunities with partner organizations and at local events to increase awareness of productions.
Street Team - Work in conjunction with the operations team to maintain and supervise an active roster of part-time employees who are able to represent BIB at various community events and disseminate collateral throughout the community.
Ticketing - Work in conjunction with the ticketing team on projects including subscriber initiatives, box office logistics and sales through external vendors.
Additional - Other duties as required to assist the marketing department and BIB office which can include promotions, partnerships and events.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Theatre or Arts Administration preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
Attention to detail, including proof-reading and copy-editing skills, is extremely important.
Ability to work on multiple projects at a time with good time management skills in order to meet deadlines.
Ability to take a positive team approach to working with co-workers.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
