The Marketing Assistant is a vital member of the Broadway Across America's (BAA) North office in Minneapolis as part of BAA. This entry-level position assists the Vice President, North and Marketing Manager in the tactical implementation of advertising and public relations campaigns for all Broadway engagements in Appleton, East Lansing, Grand Rapids, Madison, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Omaha.
Responsibilities include:
- Supports, with guidance from Senior Staff, a healthy partnership between BAA, BAA Marketing in NYC, partners and Historic Theatre Group staff
- Executes advertising plans with direction from the Senior Staff; maintains communication with venue partners, show representatives, and vendors
- Manage coordination and tracking of production work on behalf of BAA and partners including, but not limited to, print and online ads, emails, website updates, and SEM; from the input of initial requests through to the completion, sending and/or trafficking of the finished assets to media outlets, email platform and printers when necessary
- Maintains email blast schedules with venue partners; works with Senior Staff on creation of content, strategy, and targeting on email communications
- Facilitates approval process with shows and our BAA New York headquarters to ensure all collateral is accurate and effective
- Interacts with Ticketing staff on presale, promotional offers, and third party offers to get created and operational
- Facilitate Lucky Seat lottery offers from BAA/partner teams by submitting information into Lucky Seat portal, act as liaison between market, BAA legal and Lucky Seat during build process to launch offer
- Verifies and schedules all email communications, SMS and CalReply
- Manages the local Broadway Across America market webpages for the eight markets
- Regularly communicates with all members of the team on the status of projects and materials
- Maintains brand consistency across all marketing collateral
- Assists Group Sales with creation and implementation of email communications
- Assists with securing and execution of special events, such as season launch events, promotional events and subscriber promotions
- Prepare advertising settlements by accurately accounting for all bills associated with media placements and expenses related to the show's advertising budget
- Works with internal and venue partner accounting teams to manage client billing. Responsible for collection and creation of appropriate back up, accounting forms and reporting
- Collects and submits advertising invoices to Accounts Payable in New York
- Actualizes marketing budgets and settlement delivery for every show and throughout the season subscription campaign as needed
- Support Senior Staff to maintain strategic plans and reports for BAA, partners and vendors
- Works with BAA Marketing in NYC and shows to develop new partnerships and third party promotions
- Attends partner marketing meetings/special committees to represent marketing team
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Theatre or Arts Administration preferred but not required
Proficient in Excel and Word
Attention to detail, proof-reading and copy-editing skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at a time with good time management skills in order to meet deadlines
Ability to take a positive team approach to working with coworkers
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed
Reliable transportation to and from venue is essential
