EVENT & MARKETING INTERNSHIP
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Events & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for assisting our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, BReaKiNG iNTo HoLLyWooD (BiH) with event coordination of monthly industry networking events. Specific tasks include: handling check in at events and send out confirmations prior to the event, posting events on social media (Instagram and LinkedIn), and identifying college event boards to connect with recruiting more potential members to join our organization. Also, will be helping with serving as a liaison between the founder, board of director, members and the public.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
-Maintain event RSVPs, create check-in lists and email out confirmations to attendees
-Post events on various online community boards and industry websites
-Manage our business Instagram page with adding daily posts and building more of a following among college students
-Minor graphic design work required for social media posts
-Attend BiH events and check-in participants
-Special projects as they arise to assist Founder/Board
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Additional duties may include attending event and marketing related webinars to convey the information to the Found and board, scheduling and participating in board meetings by taking notes, preparing and typing up documents, and assisting with pre-pre-production for various creative projects, running errands and attending industry networking events in the evening. Major phone (via text) and email communication.
MUST BE AVAILABLE EVERYSECOND MONDAY OF THE MONTH TO ATTEND OUR MONTHLY EVENTS AT LOS ANGELES FILM SCHOOL IN HOLLYWOOD FROM 6-9PM.
TIME COMMITMENT:
This position is primarily remote, but will require 10 hours per week (which includes attending our monthly in-person events). This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking experience in events management, marketing/publicity, or entertainment in general. If you have an outgoing personality, diligent work ethic with attention to detail, responsible, organized and creative, we invite you to apply!
It is also a GREAT networking opportunity to meet our industry speakers for free.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY:
Founded in May 2005, Breaking into Hollywood (BiH), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists creative and business professionals in the entertainment industry with achieving their goals. We encourage our members to pursue their careers with creativity, enthusiasm and integrity. Past event speakers include executives at Netflix, Lionsgate, Freeform, Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon, GRAMMYs, other studios, talent agencies and prominent producers, writers, actors, etc. See website for more info.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be active on Instagram and have understanding or desire to learn how to have an effective IG business account.
- Must have 24-HR access to computer and internet
- Reliable transportation & live in Los Angeles County
- Must be excellent with using Microsoft word, Excel and Outlook.
- Able to take direction and work independently
- Must be highly organized.
- Great interpersonal communication skills. Love people.
- Must have a passion for diversity and the entertainment industry!
