OVERVIEW
Brave New Films is seeking an associate producer for an upcoming biographical feature documentary. This will be a full-time position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Thorough research of the film's subject and history through books and articles.
Find relevant archival materials (photographs,video / film, illustrations, etc.) from a multitude of sources (TV, libraries, archives) and log materials.
Oversee transcription of archival materials and key interviews.
Review of archival materials (video, audio, photos, documents) to determine selects.
Work with the producer and director to shape story narrative
Writing story outlines and paper edit scripts.
Create string outs of archival video materials.
Support casting, writing interview questions, assisting in interviews.
Support in managing small production shoots and interviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
Past experience and AP credits in documentary films or television.
Story research and archival research skills.
Ability to look through mountains of material, glean the story from it, and create useful outlines and scripts from it.
Ability to work closely with the director and support their vision on a creative level.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in Google Suite.
Basic editing knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Suite
LOCATION
Must be Los Angeles based. Will work in our Culver City offices starting in June.
