Part Time Unpaid Internship
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Boston Red Sox are looking for an individual who will be responsible for actively selling and servicing group tickets, pre-game hospitality packages and other ticketed-related products at JetBlue Park for Spring Training. The individual will establish strong and lasting relationships with accounts through outbound phone calls, emails, and in-park meetings. Responsible for maintaining an industry-best standard in customer service for all group accounts. In addition, the individual will assist with Ticket Office-related duties.
Start Date: October 3rd, 2022
End Date: April 2023
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• GROUP SALES
• Coordinate and execute a minimum of 40 sales activities per day.
• Develop new leads through cold calling, networking events, utilization of Salesforce tools, social selling, and referrals from current customers.
• Renew and service all group accounts. Establish and maintain strong relationships with all group contacts.
• Enhance existing and create new group sales events to maximize ticket sales and revenue.
• Develop and grow theme games.
• Assist in executing pre-game assets for the group sales.
• Handle all questions, requests, problems and concerns from group inquiries and sales.
• Review account information on the ticketing system to make sure it is up to date, accurate and complete.
• Make changes to or obtains additional information when needed.
• Always represent the Club in a positive and professional manner.
• Conduct client and prospect visits during home games.
• TICKETING
• Assist the Ticket Office in handling questions, requests, and processing individual and season tickets.
• Help Season Ticket Holders with their MLB Ballpark App.
• Perform a variety of other sales and services functions within the Ticketing Department as needed throughout Spring Training including answering inbound sales and service phone calls related to tickets, in-person customer service on game days and other tasks as assigned.
CHARACTERISTICS/REQUIREMENTS
• Highly organized and able to meet deadlines
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment
• Strong understanding and use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google docs
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Strong interest in sales and customer service
• Prior tour experience a plus
• Knowledge of Southwest Florida market a plus
• College Credit available, if needed for graduation, but not a requirement
