DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
Fan Services and Entertainment focuses on the overall fan experience, from the customer service provided to the entertainment in our concourse and on Jersey Street to the pre and in-game ceremonies and music played throughout the ballpark. We strive to create an environment that brings people together to enjoy what they love, whether it be baseball, concerts, or another event. The department consists of Fenway Ambassadors and Kids Crew, whose qualities consist of kindness, passion, and positivity, to name a few; they are encouraged to use these qualities to connect with every fan they encounter and create a positive fan experience.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Fan Services & Entertainment Specialist will provide day-to-day support to the department and will work to ensure an enjoyable experience for all fans who come to the ballpark. This position will oversee day of game communications, pre/in-game ceremonies and assist with other departmental duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Composes the day of game sheet for internal staff prior to the game day responsibilities.
• Oversees the use of the OneDrive and trains new users on the platform.
• Oversees execution of pre-game ceremonies for Red Sox home games and other events.
• Develops and organizes pregame script and ceremonies draft.
• Organizes, updates, & maintains the Business Operations and Pregame Ceremonies Calendars.
• Assists with the compiling & distribution of reports including: Pregame Ceremonies report, Homestand Report and Weekly Updates.
• Assists in the execution of large events including but not limited to: Winter Weekend, Jackie Robison Celebration of Life, etc.
• Planning and execution of Day of Game Staff and Department training.
• Coordinates special promotions including: Halloween at Fenway, Uniformed Staff Family Day, Father's Day / Mother's Day.
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor's degree in communication preferred but not required.
• 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a customer service or fan-facing role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Mailchimp, and Canva.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work 81 games and other special events, including holidays, nights and weekends.
