Boat Rocker Studios, Scripted, (''Scripted'') is seeking a Contract Administrator to join its Business & Legal Affairs department based in Los Angeles, California.
The Role
The Contract Administrator will collect, analyze, summarize, track, report data and handle contract administration of all types of development and production agreements in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with a desire to pursue a career in a dynamic TV and streaming content Business and Legal Affairs department.
Responsibilities
Managing several tracking tools, including options tracking, notification, follow up and execution or all agreements.
Creating summaries of closed deals for delivery and internal purposes and responding to inquiries regarding such summaries.
Update show abstracts with new deal points and ensure that they are complete.
Tracking outstanding agreements and coordinating signatures on all agreements.
Updating status reports, organizing, and administering show specific Business & Legal Affairs status calls.
Reviewing and obtaining approvals for invoices and creating contractual payment schedules.
Managing an electronic filing system for all projects and assisting attorneys with filing as needed.
Obtaining and tracking title, copyright, and trademark reports and collect information needed for copyright registration.
Draft form letters such as pick up and option exercise letters.
Complete and track guild applications and other related paperwork and where requested, serve as point person with guilds through application process.
Research and respond to ad-hoc queries from Business and Legal Affairs and its clients.
Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Business and Legal Affairs Department (as well as other departments) while holding self to a level of excellence.
Summarize credit and approval rights for each show in production, work with post production to finalize on screen credits in conformance with contractual and guild obligations, and, where required, obtain guild approval of credits in a timely manner to meet post-production schedules.
Oversee deliverables process for each series in production, including insuring that other departments have uploaded deliverables for which they are responsible and handling business and legal affairs deliverables in a timely fashion.
Insure form files are updated with new forms and adapting form files to create production packets for new productions
Additional duties as required.
Technical Skills
Strong command of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable with Adobe and database technology including SharePoint and Scenechronize.
Strong internet and basic legal research skills.
Business Skills
Contract Administration experience required.
Demonstrated skill with entertainment contract analysis (review requested data and provide information/analysis to requestor; determine start and end of contracts/windows as needed).
Working understanding of development and production process for television and streamers.
Client management skills.
Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to handle highly confidential information discretely.
Team player.
Time management/prioritization of deadlines.
Positive attitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Comfort with change and ambiguity and adept at learning new procedures and technology.
