Full Time Job
POSITION SUMMARY: Works across the organization to deliver solutions that improve how BMI uses their data. Builds the strategy and ensures implementation of our next generation analytics platform. Delivers solutions in a complex production environment.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Assesses the business problems and directs solutions that use the right database technology or platform to meet business needs and use cases
• Interacts with subject matter experts and ISG team members to define models for large and multiple data feeds (near real time and batch)
• Assesses business processes, data sources, and data utilization across the enterprise to ensure optimization, extensibility and application of the data architecture
• Identifies, evaluates, and recommends emerging data technologies and technology providers that will improve the business
• Liaisons with vendor and external support on issues such as upgrades, technical problems and solutions
• Demonstrates and promotes a workplace culture of innovation, high performance, accountability, commitment, respect and teamwork
• Provides input related to resource allocations, project plans and deadlines
• Monitors the progress and integration of multiple tasks and projects
• Provides regular status updates to the appropriate parties

Specific Functions:
Business Intelligence and Analytics
• Partners with other ISG team members and business leaders to formulate BI technology strategy
• Builds the strategy, designs frameworks and guides implementation
• Provides direction related to creation of next generation reporting and analytics platform (traditional data warehouse and big data technologies)
• Helps business partners develop strategies that maximize the value of data
Master Data Management
• Provides senior level technical consulting to application and data development teams during data modeling, application design and development for highly complex or critical projects
• Leads the organization's review of MDM tools and techniques to improve data management for the enterprise
• Develops MDM policies and procedures, ensuring that they are accurately documented and meet compliance requirements
• Collaborates with IT to ensure master data processes are aligned with enterprise business needs and evolving changes and implemented appropriately
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience
Business Intelligence and Analytics
• Minimum seven years experience with enterprise data warehouse architecture
• Minimum seven years implementation of business intelligence / analytics platforms
• Minimum seven years experience of business intelligence reporting solution design
Master Data Management
• Minimum seven years Data Architecture experience leading efforts to improve and restructure data structures, including data modeling
• Minimum five years performing requirement gathering, assessment, gap analysis, maturity assessment and validation of Data Management Capabilities
• Minimum five years developing Enterprise Data Management Strategies including Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Architecture
• Minimum seven years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server; Azure SQL Server a plus; Azure SQL Data Warehouse a plus; Oracle PL/SQL a plus
• Minimum five years of experience with MDM tools and an aptitude to understand the data and associated business rules for each of the MDM domains
Skills and Abilities:
• Proven track record of full life cycle successes from inception to successful completion and production support
• Well versed with software engineering processes (especially Agile) including hands-on experience with UML methodologies
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
• Organized, goal-oriented, self-starter, can manage multiple tasks from start to completion with limited supervision
• Knowledge of entertainment industry a plus
Specific Skills and Abilities
Business Intelligence and Analytics
• Expert level of understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence principles
• Expert level of understanding of Structure Query Language (SQL)
• Expert level of understanding of relational database principles
• Proven experience with large data volume
• Expert level of understanding of data modeling and associated tools (Erwin strongly preferred)
• Expert level of understanding of enterprise class ETL tools
• Expert level of understanding of big data platforms technologies
Master Data Management
• Developing and implementing enterprise data architecture frameworks including standards, processes, guidelines
• Performing requirement gathering, assessment, gap analysis, maturity assessment and validation of data management capabilities and developing enterprise data management strategies and operating models including master data management, metadata management, data quality, data governance, and data architecture;
• Developing and implementing enterprise Data Integration frameworks, including standards, processes, guidelines and procedures
• Proficiency with high volume OLTP databases and large data warehouse environments
• Proficiency with DB2 highly preferred
