POSITION SUMMARY
Serve a critical role in a small team sharing responsibility for BMI.com, and other Company websites along with diverse digital communication platforms.
The ideal candidate will be a creative, smart, hardworking, experienced web developer with great production skills to provide guidance and direction to our web initiatives. This position requires strong web coding abilities, design skills, technical savvy, great attention to detail, and proven expertise in web development.
A demonstrated portfolio of work is required.
This position will report to the Executive Director of Online Development and Communications and requires ability to interface with clients and all members of the creative team.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Oversee, develop and manage content, design, and UX of BMI.com and other Company websites.
• Responsible for the development of new site features, new applications, and enhancements to existing platforms.
• Collect, analyze and report on site and email metrics.
• Produce and administer monthly newsletter and other email campaigns.
• Optimize sites for speed and search functionality.
• Produce, administer and report on online surveys.
• Interface with key business unit leaders to direct creation of online business processes.
• Fulfill multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Respond to a variety of web-related requests across departments.
• Oversee the work of freelance contractors.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing and maintaining web content.
• Macintosh and Windows proficiency required
• Extremely proficient HTML and CSS skills
• Strong design skills
• Proficient in javascript and related frameworks (Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery)
• Proficient in version control (git)
• Proficient with command line operation (terminal)
• Software knowledge including, Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop
• Experience in a LAMP environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience working with CMS implementation (ExpressionEngine and other technologies)
• Keen eye for clean UI implementation
• Knowledge of website design best practices
• Experience working with popular web analytics packages (Google Analytics)
• Familiarity with design and production of mass email campaigns
• Familiarity with search engine optimization
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical team members
• Video editing experience desired but not required
• Love of music and interest in the music industry
• Fluency in Spanish language a plus but not required
