JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Our summer internship program is a fun, exciting and education-packed 10 weeks. Each intern is specially selected and placed in a department that best fits their skills and interests. Throughout the 10 weeks they will be mentored and supervised by a Blue Sky professional in that field.
All of the Summer 2019 internships start in early June and end in early August. They are open to all college students whose graduation dates fall within the following time frame: Winter 2018 through Spring 2020. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
CROWDS
The Crowds Artist is tasked with filling the screen with background characters to support animation's lead and hero background characters. This support can range from a handful to thousands of characters. We add depth to the shots we touch and add life to scenes that feature large numbers of simple, but numerous character movements. As an intern, you will work with the crowds team to learn our pipeline from start to finish. Crowd interns should demonstrate an understanding of how simulated effects work, composition in frame, and a good sense of appeal and entertainment. Additionally, we are looking for artists that really dive into creative and technical challenges, take the initiative, and are open to learn new processes.

Education
and/or Experience Required:
Pursuing BS or MS in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Computer Visualization or related studies.
Skills
, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate:
• Have a good sense of motion
• Strong technical aptitude with either experience or high level of interest in procedural animation
• You must be able to work well within a team while also being able to solve shot-specific issues independently.
• Strong technical problem solving.
• Familiarity with major animation packages (Maya, Massive, Houdini)
• Must be open to direction and able to embrace change.
• Familiarity with LINUX operating system.
