PR Coordinator (6 Month Consultant)
Bleecker Street Media is looking for a talented and passionate film lover to join our team in a fast-paced, creatively dynamic independent studio PR department. This role is perfect for someone looking to break into the film PR world and experience what in-house publicity entails for a diverse year-round slate of independent films. This is a 6 month consultant position, August - January, with potential for extension and / or transition to full time if the right fit. This role will report to the Senior Vice President of Publicity and will be supervised by the PR Manager in the NY office.
Role responsibilities would include:
-Organizing and maintaining publicity materials
-Compiling and circulating press breaks
-Liaising between various agencies and departments
-Manage the overall administrative responsibilities of the PR department
-Send and track press screener links, and coordinate DCP shipments for screenings and events
-Coordinating talent logistics for travel and events like premieres and junkets, and helping maintain talent and filmmaker schedules
-Staff and help manage events including premieres, press days, festivals, and awards events.
-Work closely with the SVP of PR to strategize and brainstorm creative angles and ideas for dynamic PR campaigns
-Coordinate departmental meetings and calls, as well as for the SVP
-Assist with festival submissions and documents
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of work experience in Film or Publicity, or substantial Film PR internship experience
• Motivated self-starter skilled in multitasking and time management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is crucial, as well as great communication skills
• Basic knowledge of the film industry and enthusiasm for film required
• Must be able to work with various levels of talent, filmmakers, and press, in a professional manner
• Must know that PR is not a 9-5 job and be willing to work evenings and weekends
