Location: Silverlake, Los Angeles, CA

Black Valley Films is looking for a part-time intern with a background in Film, Journalism, and/or Business to assist Academy-Award-nominated filmmaker, Scott Hamilton Kennedy.

This is a unique opportunity to learn about documentary production, funding, and distribution from the ground up. You will gain exposure to production and post-production environments, as well as learn the business behind independent documentary filmmaking. The company is small, making it possible for you to work closely with the director himself and learn more about the company as a whole than you would at a larger entity. You will be an essential part of the team.

Responsibilities:
• Research
• Post-production workflow
• Fundraising
• General office/admin-related needs
• Manage marketing campaigns via social media networks

Requirements:
• Minimum 4 months (one semester) commitment
• Reliable transportation for local candidates

Qualifications:
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Highly-organized
• Research skills
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and Adobe CC
• Knowledge of macOS

Preferred, but not required:
• Working knowledge of social media platforms
• Experience with cold calls/emails
• Film editing and/or graphic design

LOCATION: Home office in the Silverlake area

HOURS: 3 days per week - 9:30am-6pm PST

This is an unpaid internship; however, we offer college & professional credit.
