Responsibilities:
- Work directly with artists and songwriters to help them refine their work.
- Pitch our writers, artists, and select agency clients to producers and collaborators. Set up sessions.
- Coordinate, manage, and upkeep of publishing administration and our publishing partner relationship.
- Creative day-to-day management responsibilities for a very boutique roster.
- Acquire and build a robust network of contacts in sync, producer communities, and songwriter communities.
- Research on upcoming projects, films, campaigns, TV shows, commercials, and beyond.
- Organization of showcases and private performances.
- Research and pursuit of non-conventional opportunities such as licensing to apps, gaming, YouTube, and influencers.
- Overseeing of legal and deals related to sync usages.
- Organization and management of assets (WAVs, MP3s, instrumentals, tagging of music, samplers, etc.)
- Work with the rest of the Black Box team to understand the strategy, marketing, and direction of the projects.
- Communicate and grow company's relationships with managers, labels, artists, and collaborators.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of music industry experience in creative, publishing, or sync. Record label or publisher experience preferred.
- Knowledge and pre-existing relationships in key creative communities, songwriting communities, producer communities, and music supervision communities preferred.
- A basic understanding of splits.
- Experience in and enthusiasm for all commercial music genres.
- Excellent ears, taste, and understandings of modern competitive sounds and styles in music.
- Discipline to honor and hit deadlines.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, innovative, and ambitious. Team player mentality.
- Leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit that serves the growth desires of this part of out company.
- An absolute desire to learn, always.
