Penske Media, the owner of over 20 leading media brands, is looking for talented individuals to join the video team at Billboard to fill the role of Senior Creative Producer for Billboard in our LA Office. This role is an integral part of the video team, responsible for producing and elevating the quality of our slate of content.
This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative, mission-based company and immediately impact a growing team, comprised of producers, hosts, editors, and strategists. It is a multi-faceted position responsible for the production of all Billboard video content, from events to covers and news. Candidates need to have a creative eye for content and aesthetic, while understanding what will drive consumer interest and viewership. To be successful in this role, candidates will also need to be a master of details in order to ensure a variety of content, sometimes with quick turnaround, are rolled out on schedule and as expected. Responsibilities:
• Lead all creative and production for Billboard video content, including creative oversight of Billboard News
• Ownership of all aspects of video content production from concept through content posting
• Maintain and elevate production quality and creative execution for all Billboard video content
• Hiring freelancers, managing shoot budgets, and all logistical aspects of assigned shoots and projects
• Work with both internal and freelance editors on all deliverables, including horizontal, vertical and social cuts
• Ideating video concepts and working with appropriate editorial teams as needed
• Working with Content Managers on distribution and posting of content to make sure they have all deliverables and content is rolled out on schedule
• Set lighting, look and feel, sound, art/props for shoots, and direct on-set crew and on-camera talent to ensure the highest level product quality and creative
Production and editing of content in Spanish
• Creative brainstorming, writing creative briefs, scripts, treatments, on-screen copy as needed
• Production for any live or special event-related content both in the studio or on location, including but not limited to Grammys, SXSW, Billboard’s Latin Music Week
• Collaborate with the design team and external graphics vendors as needed
Requirements:
• Minimum 10 years of video production experience at a publisher, network/streamer, or studio
• Technical proficiency including lighting, audio, working with editors, live show production, set design, and décor
• Ability to work closely and directly with editors, understanding of editing techniques and Adobe Premiere capabilities
• Experience managing productions of all sizes, from 1-2 people to 20
• Proven experience producing engaging digital content that is on-brand and consumer-friendly, rapidly
• Understanding of digital content consumption metrics and how to use them to inform content decisions
Self-starter who is used to working with tight deadlines and minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• Understanding of fair use and news production
• Livestreaming experience a plus
• Fluency in Spanish a plus
Typical wage range: $80k - $95k
Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits. PMC is committed to the health and wellness of our employees. As part of our company-wide rollout of PMC’s paid healthcare plan, effective for this role July 1, 2023, the company will pay 100% of the monthly health, dental and vision plan premiums for the employee and their family.
