Billboard: Fall Editorial Internship
Calling all pop culture stans, Hot 100 stat nerds and data-driven journalists: Billboard is looking for a responsible, driven, detail-oriented intern to join our fast-paced newsroom and learn about all facets of the music industry.
Daily responsibilities primarily involve writing news stories and music lists, with opportunities to learn about pitching stories to staff editors, assist with research and fact-checking, and contribute to a wide range of editorial projects.
We’re always looking for fresh, creative pitches on the ever-evolving industry, so a proactive intern will apply a business-focused mentality while sniffing out trends, discovering new talents, interviewing artists and publishing features online. Are the ever-growing K-pop and Latin markets your thing? Obsessively tracking the next soon-to-be TikTok hit? More into the behind-the-scenes business of record deals? We want to hear about it!
The ideal candidate will have some experience writing clean copy for music or entertainment media, stellar reporting skills and ideas for what artists, industry shifts and genre niches Billboard should be covering in 2022. Please include links to 2-3 writing samples or clips somewhere in your application.
This is a paid, 24 hour/week, 12-week internship with a start date in early September. All applicants must live and work in New York or California for the duration of the internship to be considered. The position is a mix of remote work and in-office experience.
