On-Campus Multiplatform Video Producer (U of I) - Big Ten Network & Editor
The Big Ten Network is seeking an On-Campus Multiplatform Video Producer/Editor (MVPE) at the University of Illinois. The MVPE will support the ideation, creation, and on-site production of Illinois Athletics content across BTN platforms, with a focus on digital and social media opportunities. You will report directly to the Chicago-based Senior Manager, Digital, and you will be based in Champaign, IL.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create and deliver year-round Illinois Athletics video content for BTN's social, digital and broadcast channels
• Collaborate with Senior Manager, Digital and Content Coordinators to produce video content for digital and social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
• Use sound editorial judgement and BTN/Illinois viewer trends to produce content/highlights to serve an Illinois audience
• Drive day-to-day content collaboration with the Illinois Athletics Department (Communications, Social Media, and Video Teams)
• Shoot, edit, and produce long-form storytelling content for BTN's Crossover Franchise series including At The Net (volleyball), On The Pitch (soccer), On The Beam (gymnastics), On The Mat (wrestling), On The Court (women's basketball), and At The Plate (baseball/softball)
• Shoot, edit, and deliver content from live sporting events
• Perform pre/post video production optimized for social media sharing
• Ensure all content aligns with brand standards – consistent in style, quality, and voice
• Cover real-time breaking Illinois Athletics news
• Occasionally execute duties of field producer on ENG shoots
• Manage video inventory and share assets with key internal stakeholders
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1+ years of experience producing custom digital video content
• Demonstrated production and editing experience with intercollegiate athletics programs or professional sports teams
• Demonstrated ability to shoot video content at sporting events
• Established ability to create and produce compelling stories; generate and execute ideas from concept to execution
• Demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback to others as well as seek out and accept constructive feedback for your individual performance
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive, take initiative, and meet strategic deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Extensive knowledge of digital video production and content management systems
• Extensive knowledge of all things culturally relevant to Illinois Athletics, Big Ten Athletics, and pop culture
• Proficiency in the use of technology platforms and graphic design software packages (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, 3D Software)
• Excellent attention to detail and outstanding organizational & project management skills
• Familiarity with Big Ten Network's programming, talent, and brand initiatives
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on digital media production preferred or equivalent experience
Salary/Benefits
$19.50 - $27.89 /hour USD
