The Big Ten Network is looking for a Coordinator, Business Operations to join their team in Chicago, IL. The Business Operations team plays a support role in the organization, providing critical support for other BTN departments (production, sales, sponsorship, marketing, programming, digital, engineering, etc.). As the Coordinator, Business Operations, you will work closely with the Manager, Business Operations to assist in planning of internal and external events, support distribution and tracking of BTN's ticket allotment, help manage BTN's premiums inventory (swag), coordinate with building/office services, and other duties as assigned.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the management of BTN's ticket allotment, including the procurement of tickets from B1G athletic department ticket offices, tracking of departmental ticket requests, distribution of tickets for approved requests, and completion of associated documentation
• Assist with hotel room block logistics, ticket/suite allotments, suite catering, and hospitality events
• Assist in planning and execution of corporate and company events such as BTN Big 10K, BTN Experience, holiday parties, and employee appreciation events
• Assist in the coordination of in-office meals for Football Saturdays, company lunches, and other production needs
• Monitor BTN's inventory of company apparel and premiums (swag)
• Organize and document the distribution of premium items according to BTN's guidelines
• Work closely with FOX Premiums to secure proposals based on department requests
• Work with HR to ensure a smooth employee onboarding process and the new hire checklist is complete before start date (i.e., badge, parking, name plate, swag)
• Play a key role in the planning for BTN's presence at B1G tentpole events (B1G Football Championship Game, B1G Basketball Tournaments, etc.)
• Coordinate BTN's employee volunteer opportunities with local non-profits, including serving as primary contact to charitable organizations
• Serve as primary contact to the building for parking, fitness center, and conference center requests; secondary contact for maintenance and security-related requests
• Manage and oversee tour inquiries of BTN offices from local schools, B1G schools, executive requests, etc.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1+ years of relevant experience
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong team player with a forward-thinking mindset and ''no job is too small'' attitude
• Basic understanding of college sports, specifically the Big Ten Conference
• Desire to deliver - rst-class customer service to all internal and external stakeholders
• E?ectively manage multiple projects and priorities
• Able to work occasional nights and weekends, and travel to execute sales/sponsorship events at B1G Conference tentpole events
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
• Bachelor's Degree
• Prior experience working in the realm of college sports and/or the media landscape
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $44,000.00-54,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
