Big Picture Media is looking for someone to join our NYC or LA team as a full time Publicist.
Job Requirements:
· College Degree.
· Previous PR experience (Minimum of 3+ years preferred at an agency or label).
· Knowledge of Cision, Constant Contact, Google docs/sheets, Microsoft Word, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel is a plus.
Responsibilities Include:
* Spearhead your own campaigns.
* Must have strong contacts and great proven relationships within the music industry.
* Must be able to show proof of previous press campaign coverage you secured.
• Assisting Senior Publicists on single, album, tour press and event campaigns.
• Pitch stories to top tier media outlets via email and phone pitching.
• Bring in new business potential.
• Draft media materials to include pitch letters, press releases, profiles, and press kit materials.
• Work on red carpet events, photo shoots, promo shoots, shows, press days as needed.
• On-site at events, you will be one of the faces of Big Picture Media and will be responsible for press check-in, coordinating interviews and more.
• Monitor media outlets for coverage of client news and create/maintain coverage reports.
• Endless research and current up to date research tactics.
• Proof and edit client related documents as needed.
• Create wrap books.
• Provide training and guidance to interns if they have questions.
• Help organize intern schedules and interviews.
• Be willing to travel.
• Know media. Research outlets, writers, reviewers, etc. Cannot emphasize you knowing media enough.
• Ability to be confident and take charge of a situation.
• Help scheduling, reminding, taking notes.
• Tour press, tour press, tour press.
Requirements:
• You must love music and the entertainment / events industry.
• You must have passion for publicity and being a publicist.
• Have a genuine knowledge, passion and excitement for Big Picture Media's current roster of clients while also being able to think about new artists, events and more that would be a good fit within the BPM family.
• You want to grow with the company.
• Strong understanding of media, and strong media relations skills and knowledge are a must.
• Excellent written communication skills.
* Be a self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative.
* Quick learner who can multi-task with success.
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to multi-task in order to consistently meet deadlines.
• Ability to be confident and take charge of a situation
• Be a positive source of energy within the office and over slack.
• Adaptable to change and have proactive behavior.
• Exceptional judgment when working with team members, clients and media.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Be a team player and willing to help any BPM staffer at any time.
Salary:
Salary based on experience.
