Big Picture Entertainment, an integrated entertainment marketing agency, is seeking a talented, driven, motion graphics artist for an entry-level Junior Production Artist/Designer position. This hands-on role will include active duties in Production and Finishing, as well as opportunities to grow as a Designer on well-known Movie, TV, and Streaming campaigns. The artist will be working directly with a team of Producers, Creative Directors, Designers, and Animators as supplemental support.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, supporting senior talent with versioning out graphics from pre-existing designs, animating the designs of senior talent, working within client toolkits and assets and meticulously preparing graphics for airing in theaters, on television and online. Though this position is entry-level, the ideal candidate will be someone who wants to grow and refine their skills to lead them towards a full Designer position. Please note: this position requires 4 days in-office of a 5-day work week.
Core responsibilities include:
Working closely with senior designers to version out graphics and animate existing design concepts
Bringing senior designer visions to life through animation and motion graphics
Understanding and working within client creative toolkits and asset libraries
Meticulously preparing finished design assets for distribution across theatrical, broadcast, and digital media
The ability to receive feedback, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities is essential.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and C4D Basics
After Effects animation basics is a necessity
Strong sense of motion basics (Position- XYZ space, Scale, Anchor points, rotation, key framing, Eases/Graph Editor)
Intermediate understanding of the programs preferred if they have a 4 year degree
After Effects 3rd party plug-ins a plus, not a necessity. Example: Red Giant Universe, Sapphire, Video Copilot
A strong sense of design terminology & design basics (kerning, leading, rag, widows, tangents, composition, balance, etc.)
Very Important: A strong understanding, appreciation and sophisticated taste level for typography, both static and in motion. Designer will be choosing typefaces and working with type on a daily basis to create layouts at the highest level of design.
Exhibits sense of creative concepting in Portfolio
Collaborative software knowledge like GSuite, Teams, etc.
Time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
Understanding of production workflows and toolkits
1-2 years experience in broadcast, entertainment, or agency production environment preferred
Knowledge of animation and motion graphics principles
Knowledge of social platforms and social designing principles
Collaborative, proactive attitude with strong communication skills
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Passion for entertainment marketing and delivery of high-quality creative
This position will be based out of our Los Angeles office with a weekly on-site requirement of 4 days per week.
