Live Stream Producer / Manager (LPM) reports to the Head of Production.
LPM will perform any and all needed creative, technological and/or logistical tasks to achieve the desired creative and scheduled goals on all projects assigned. Achieve continuity between multiple projects while working against very aggressive deadlines. Actively maintain expertise in the latest technology trends, techniques, and tools related to create digital content.
At times the LPM may be required to act as the primary or secondary videographer (or camera person) for pre-produced content. At times the LPM may be required to act as the primary or secondary editor, for pre-produced content. While neither of these are the primary function of the position, any additional responsibilities as such will be determined by the then current workload and staff availability.
When LPM is called upon as a video editor they will ingest, organize, and edit video footage (live action/B-roll/screen capture/multicamera) with accompanying narrative tracks, overlays, and graphics as applicable, while ensuring high quality. This position requires clear communication with keys, to ensure success. Video Editor will perform soup-to-nuts post-production, taking raw footage from assembly to full color-corrected delivery master that has mixed and leveled audio tracks. Assess and resolve technical and creative issues. Achieve continuity between multiple projects while working against very aggressive deadlines. Actively maintain expertise in the latest technology trends, techniques, and tools related to post-production.
LPM will be point person for most, if not all, ''live'' projects; to include webinars, live events, and other streaming shows/content. LPM will act at Technical Producer/Director, as well as a multitude of other hats as needed to pull off the projects. There might be other limited crew, but we are relying on LPM to be able to lead and achieve this effort.
Ultimately this is only a general description of what might be asked of the LPM but must be able to wear multiple hats; including but not limited to Writer, Producer and/or Director.
The ideal candidate will have a passion, experience or at least some rudimentary understanding of firearms, gun laws and or shooting sports as a hobby. This will only help perform the job better, and also better understand the content being produced.
Key Qualifications
At least 1-2 years of writing, producing and directing experience (please have some type of video editing, experience; cinematography experience a plus) working on short-form television, digital content, social media, and/or in an internal corporate media production environment AND Live / Streaming productions
Be a highly-technical live broadcast professional
Experienced with livestream hardware (like Blackmagic ATEM and HyperDeck products) and all related hardware/software/file codec compatibility
Thorough understanding of Wirecast, ATEM Control software, OBS, and related streaming software and their integration to various social web platforms
Thorough understanding of what goes into live production, managing start and end times, adding remote commentary, graphics and other treatments
Able to integrate live video calls into a livestream for guests via Skype or other video conferencing platforms
Able to build a template and program Macros to custom fit livestream broadcast requirements around number of cameras, mics, lighting, audio routing, guest call-ins, graphics, etc.
Must be able to build out a streaming setup for remote broadcasts
Proactive problem-solving and anticipating the needs and potential issues of any requested livestream, both in-studio and remote
Strong understanding and knowledge of digital content production
Take an existing concept and creatively ideate the vision from start to finish
Manage all aspects of the creative; to include, but not limited to writing creative briefs (such as treatments based on ordered concept), working with writers to create shooting scripts, creating shotlists and storyboards, configuring live rundowns, selecting talent and locations, directing talent, managing production and technical crew, as well as overseeing creative during the edit
At least 1-2 years of video editing, graphics and post-finishing experience working on short-form television, digital content, social media, and/or in an internal corporate media production environment
Strong understanding and knowledge of nonlinear video and graphics production, organization, and storage
Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects with the ability to efficiently navigate projects, as well as the ability to know/use/learn new software in the future
Basic understanding of mixing audio and managing audio level for broadcast
Must be creative, detail oriented, highly motivated and action oriented
Must be able to give and take direction, adhere to a schedule and delivery in a timely fashion
Ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical or creative problems or issues
Know-how and experience troubleshooting and solving issues with Mac computers including macOS and related software
Technical know-how and experience troubleshooting and solving issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
Atleast rudimentary knowledge of, or experience in, drawing storyboards and/or the ability to take initiative and learn
Applicants with experience, knowledge or a passion for firearms, outdoors and/or shooting sports a go to top of the list!
BA or BS in communications, art, film, broadcast, media production, or related field (preferred but not required)
