Reports to: Directors and Stage Manager
Dates: April 21 - June 23
Hours: Minimum 10 hrs a week for rehearsals; 15+ hrs a week for tech and performances (In Person)
Rate: Unpaid
Job Description:
Bethesda Rep is currently seeking production and Stage Management interns to assist in our spring/summer production of The Rhythm of Mourning. We are looking for passionate individuals to play an active role in the rehearsal process and the run of our show. We would love to know your specific areas of interest, as we hope for this experience to be both exciting and educational.
In this role, responsibilities may include:
Setting and striking for rehearsals and performances
Completing various administrative tasks such as note taking, daily call sheets, etc.
Communicating with production departments on the various needs of the production
Assist in coordinating with the director and other production staff to ensure that all production elements are in place and operating correctly
Ensure all backstage areas are organized, clean, and safe for performers and crew-members
Running the sound/light board during tech and performances
Must be available for our rehearsals, tech, and performances:
Rehearsals: Evenings, Sun, Mon & Tue April 21st-May 13th & Fri May 10th
Tech: Evenings, Fri May 17th, Mon May 20th, Thu May 23rd
Performances (11 total):
Stomping Ground LA:
· Fri May 24th at 8PM
· Sat May 25th at 3PM & 8PM
· Sun May 26th at 3PM
· Thu May 30th at 8PM
· Fri May 31st at 8PM
Hollywood Fringe Festival:
· Thu June 6th at 8:30PM
· Thu June 13th at 7PM
· Sat June 15th at 4:30PM
· Thu June 20th at 10:30PM
· Sat June 22nd at 5:30PM
Qualifications:
Prior experience in stage management, lighting, sound, or other production work is a plus but not required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for community building and cultural engagement
Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Salary/Benefits
