Full Time Job
BET Digital is looking for an individual who will be a key part of the OnTV/Social team to lead the audience development strategy for BET on the YouTube platform. The ideal candidate is a creative, data-driven marketer that is certified in YouTube channel growth (among other YouTube certifications) with a proven track record of developing audiences and increasing engagement on the YouTube platform. This individual will be focused on increasing subscribers, video views and engagement on BET Networks’ primary YouTube channels.
Responsibilities
• Develop a deep understanding of the BET YouTube channel audiences and formulate audience growth strategies based on campaign performance and cohort analysis.
• Partner with editorial and linear teams on the publish schedule of digital original and linear content.
• Maintain content calendar for BET YouTube channels, including following up with content owners to confirm scheduled content is delivered in a timely fashion to allow for captioning prior to publish.
• Work closely with content and distribution partners to ensure that YouTube links are available for promotion across other social platforms.
• Community management across the BET YouTube channels, including engaging with the audience in the comment area of posts, creating community posts and YouTube Stories.
• Managing third party resource to assist with video uploads, tagging and thumbnail creation.
• Work in sync with Viacom Piracy team on content ID strategy for original linear and digital content.
Basic Qualifications
• A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required.
• Certified in YouTube Channel Growth, Content Ownership and Asset Monetization
• At least 5-7 years of experience working with social media data to identify key metrics that indicate growth potential, executing social media campaigns that lead to significant audience growth, and proven success of building reports to help distribute quantitative learnings to various constituents in an organization
Additional Qualifications
• Firm knowledge of analytics platforms (AdWords, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics/Omniture, Facebook Business Manager/Power Editor, social media insights platforms such as Sprinklr, Sailthru Analytics), testing tools, and SDK integrations
• Mastery of the primary social platform, their pros, cons and all capabilities.
• Must have a strong understanding of the BET brand voice and tone, targeting millennials and women who are lovers of Black culture.
• Large interest in Black culture, music and sports with knowledge of what's trending.
Must be agile and flexible, and a constant student to stay ahead of trends, platform changes and new platforms as they happen
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
• Experienced user of popular social publishing, reporting, and listening tools.
• Flexibility with extensive travel and nights/weekend hours required
• Strong ability to multitask and manage several projects.
• Technical knowledge directing and troubleshooting live event productions for broadcast and live streams.
• Create assets for assigned shows including gifs, images, memes and relevant video content.
• Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, video editing programs, iOS apps, and cameras.
• Familiarity with competitive research tools such as comScore and SimilarWeb,
